CHARACTER & DESIGN OF JETBUS 5
Jetbus 5 is my fourth major work and represents the fifth generation of the Jetbus Series—an achievement that not only marks an evolution in form, but also the maturation of its design philosophy. Together with the internal design team of PT Adi Putro Wirasejati, Jetbus 5 was designed comprehensively: from the front, side, and rear, to the interior, including detailed elements such as the AC louvers, ducting, and cabin lighting concept.
EXTERIOR DESIGN
SPIRIT OF THE EQUESTRIAN KNIGHT
Power, bravery, and precision shaped into stance, movement, and identity.”

The Equestrian Knight as an Expression of Motion, Direction, Character, and Courage
The Equestrian Knight philosophy is a legacy concept revived from the PT Adi Putro company logo reinterpreted as a symbol of movement, direction, character, and bravery.

The front of Jetbus 5 is designed as the primary expression of its character. Its form and composition suggest the image of a horse’s headsharp, focused, and ready to charge forward. This is a modern interpretation of the equestrian knight philosophy that has become the visual DNA of Adiputro.

EXTERIOR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Resilience – Agile Maneuvering and Stability
Resilience is expressed through the overall proportions with short front and rear overhangs, minimizing the distance from the wheel center to the edge of the bumper. This composition gives the car an agile and aggressive stance, while improving its ability to perform sharp maneuvers. With a controlled center of mass and well-balanced track width, the vehicle is engineered to maintain maximum stability across various road conditions and at appropriate speed levels.

Strength – Muscular Volumes and Dynamic Lines
Strength appears in the solid, well-proportioned body volumes, combining sharp lines with interlocking convex–concave surfaces. Clean panel transitions and strong “muscles” over the wheels build the impression of a powerful car that is always ready to launch forward.

A Blend of Extreme and Minimalist Design
Garuda AS1’s design language is a balance between extreme and minimalist. The extreme side is visible in the sharp angles and strong character lines that create a bold identity. The minimalist side comes from the clean convex–concave surfaces, clearly noticeable on the front and rear bumpers, which are simple yet visually strong. This contrast between sharp lines and smooth surfaces generates a modern, elegant visual rhythm.

Front Fascia: A Sharp and Focused Horse’s Head
The front lighting of Jetbus 5 was originally designed by myself together with the internal design team at PT Adi Putro Wirasejati, introducing a new design language distinct from previous Jetbus generations. This approach marks a new chapter in Jetbus visual identity, delivering a look that is more modern, refined, and futuristic.
The Daytime Running Light (DRL) is positioned at the upper section, serving as a strong visual signature that defines the character of the vehicle. Meanwhile, the main headlamp is placed within the bumper area, creating a more dynamic proportion while reinforcing a high-tech appearance.
This combination of layout and form not only enhances the visual expression of Jetbus 5, but also emphasizes its role as a forward-thinking coach, shaped by a progressive and visionary design philosophy.

The front and rear lamps feature LED technology arranged with precision. The signature light graphic on the main headlamps, DRLs, and taillights creates a distinctive lighting pattern, giving the car a luxurious, modern, and futuristic presence. At night, the Garuda AS1’s light signature is easily recognizable from a distance..

The front and rear body shapes are designed to be highly glossy and aerodynamic, allowing the air to flow smoothly over the car’s surfaces. This flowing form helps to reduce drag and underlines the feeling of an efficient sports car.
The eaglewing door system makes entering and exiting the cabin easy and dramatic. The doors swing upward like an eagle’s wings, with hinges located at the upper front section. A single large opening without a separate front and rear door creates generous access to both front and rear seats, turning every entry into an iconic, theatrical moment.

As a whole, the Garuda AS1 design carries the artistic sensibility of a unique and aesthetic sports car. Its design language makes the concept feel complete: the front, side, rear, and roof all appear to flow like moving energy from one area to another. Dynamic surfaces catch and reflect light, creating bright accents along the body and subtly extending into the cabin. Garuda AS1 is not just a vehicle, but a visual statement about how national philosophy can be transformed into the shape of a future car.

REPETITIVE DRL MOTIF: LUXURY IN THE DETAILS
The repetitive motif within the Daytime Running Light (DRL) creates a sense of luxury and modernity when viewed up close. This graphic approach reflects meticulous design thinking and reinforces a premium impression, small details with a strong visual impact.

THE EVOLUTION OF JETBUS LIGHTING LANGUAGE
Jetbus 5 represents the culmination of the Jetbus Series’ lighting evolution bringing together character, identity, and contemporary expression into a single, refined, and cohesive design language.

Side Design Variation — Inspired by the Horse’s Legs
The side design variation is shaped by the rhythm and strength of a horse in motion. Its flowing lines embody momentum, balance, and purpose expressing the spirit of forward movement. Even at rest, Jetbus 5 carries the presence of motion, as if ready to surge ahead at any moment.

UPPER SIDE DESIGN VARIATION
The upper side design variation of Jetbus 5 is inspired by the lance of a mounted knight—an symbol of direction, speed, and courage.
The upper front side lamp draws its form from the blade-like tip of the lance, expressing focus, sharp intent, and forward momentum.
The upper rear side lamp takes inspiration from the tail of the lance, representing balance and control—an essential counterweight to speed and power.
Together, these elements function as a strong visual signature, emphasizing that Jetbus 5 does not merely move forward, but advances with clarity of purpose, confidence, and disciplined strength.
Jetbus 5 embodies motion with meaning—where design leads the journey.
